Playing with Lens

Occasionally I use a kaleidoscope and attach it to my camera lens and see what it can do.. Here are a couple of the better photos...

Story Telling

Story telling
looking for the countries in the story
The other day, the school had a guest speaker. She came into the year 3-6 classes and told the narrative of Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. I have to admit that I have not actually read this book. I have issues with the injustice of books in this genre, so I tend to stay away. But  Mrs. F told an intrigue rendition of this story with props and actions. I quite enjoyed it. But then I do enjoy some good story telling.

Wall Art

So the other day, I am walking down the street and I saw some new wall art on the zoo wall.  I don't usually stop and take a photo but this one was quite intriguing to me. There seems to be a lot of motifs going on.
The first thing that caught my eye was the bird coming to rest on the person's head.  It is very detailed and looks as though it has just landed. Why is it there? What does it represent? It stirred up a lot of questions. SO....just thought I would share it with you and see what you first saw....?

Singapore Humor

I just love the public service signs in Singapore.
There are so many different ones, but this is one I had not seen before.
Just thought I would share a giggle with you today!

The TAIL of TWO AARDVARKS

One day a friend of mine came to visit and presented me with a gift of a purple crocheted aardvark. I loved him at first sight and called him Albert.

A couple weeks later, another friend came to visit and with her came her little boy. He had fun wrestling with Bertie during the visit. At the end of their visit, I felt God say that I needed to let them take Bertie home. So I offered Bertie to my friend's son and since he didn't have any stuffed animals, his mother eventually accepted, after much protest.  There was a bit of sadness on my part, watching Bertie go, but I knew that the young child would get a lot of enjoyment from playing with Bertie, so I was okay with letting him go.

Two days later, I visited my mailbox at school and there was a huge package in there. I rarely get mail, so I was quite excited and ripped open the envelope. As I unwrapped the gift, I started to laugh. Another friend had been visiting the USA and challenged a friend of hers, who owns a company called Kwirky Creations, to crochet an aardvark! She succeeded!  It was in the shape of my own signature too!!

His name is Antonio and he now sits in my office, waiting to be hugged.

God is so amazing!  I have incredible friends who know my love for aardvarks and look for ways to bless me through them. And then when I turn and bless others, God surprises me all the more!  What a true sign of His delight and love over me. It is just the reminder I needed today!

Viewing the team photos
A friend of mine had a scavnger birhtday party this weekend. The group met at the city gate and received their clues and headed out. After an hour and a half of searching the city and snapping photos, they all arrived  back safety at the birthday girl's home for a viewing of all the photos and a chili dinner.
