A Sober Reminder

This is a typical village "apartment" complex.
There are stores on the street level and the
flats above. Everything here is made of
brick. I am not sure if you can see it, but the
lower level wall is bowed out. There is really
no framework to help stabilize the walls. It is
just brick on top of brick.

School is done for the year! Last night was the End of Year celebration. I joined busloads of the school community and headed out of town to a hotel resort to have a final dinner and graduation ceremony.The program was very nice, but I was more struck  by the journey to get out to the resort. We drove through some very scenic rice paddies and landscape, but it was always tempered by such poverty and grime. A sober reminder that God has created us for His beauty, but it was been polluted by sin. May God remind us all of His beauty each day!
