I never get tired of seeing this scene: cops directing traffic! It is poetry in motion.
A mask shop. It also had puppets.
On the City Tour we went to Kathmandu Durbar. This is the historic part of town. Very old, and lots of temples and palaces.
A lion guarding one of the temple entrances.
There must have been 10,000 pigeons at this temple. And every 15 minutes one of the the temple workers came out and threw them more bird seed. It is a mad scramble. The most eerie thing was the sound of all of them coo-cooing!
Here is a cow trying to figure out what all the excitement is about. Those darn birds.
One of the many temples in square
Another one.
One end of the Old Freak Street. This is where the hippies congregated.
Thamel is a tourist district. You can get all kinds of Western items there.
More of Thamel.
Rickshaws in Thamel.
The recently bulldozed slums by the river with a high-rise being built in the background
This bull was quite content to stand there. The pedestrian and the driver really had no recourse, but to go around.
Sewing
Man surveying his kingdom...actually it is a taxi driver waiting for a fare.
I just started reading your blog. It's very interesting! Thank you for sharing your experience with us!!
