Road Trip Highlights

Most of the highways are tolled
so you always need to change a
couple small bills of rupees with you.

Huge trucks, mostly from India, travel the roads with
lots of decorations and word of
"wisdom".

Rice is a main staple here. Miles of
fields down in the Terai area.

Masala Chai - you can live on it for
days...I know from experience.

Nepal is divided into three geographical
regions...the High Mountains, the Foot hills
and the Terai- (floodplains)

The private school when the teacher
 training took place. This school had
about 1400 students and was run by three
sisters.

In Butwal, down in the Terai, the
rickshaw drivers get ready for another
day of ferrying people around.

On the way home, some youth decided to make some money.
One dressed as a pretty woman and danced in the middle of the
road.  You can see one of his mates getting money from
the blue car. We also had to give a free will offering. The pile of stones
to throw at cars that don't pay was ready too, but I missed the shot!
